A new coach is named...

The board meeting was last night, and they approved a new head football coach to replace Forrest. [FULL ARTICLE IN MORNING NEWSPAPER] Thankfully, it represents Forrest pretty well. Ironically enough, this 'new' coach was the coach before Forrest. He left a year ago, hence leaving the spot open for Forrest, and now is back. Guess he didn't like the other school? Nonetheless, we wish the team the best in the upcoming football season. We enjoyed our time while we were here...and know without a doubt that God 'called' us here for a reason and now it's onto our next chapter in life...I'm sure it will be 'immeasurably more than we can ask for or imagine' Ephesians 3:20

HOUSE FOR SALE UPDATE: A family 'offered' on our house yesterday and we counter offered and now we are waiting for her call this afternoon. Keep the prayers coming---what a blessing it would be to sell our house BY OWNER in such a short time frame. God is good...all the time!

What's up with that Heather is that most of the community knew this was coming from the minute they "let Forrest go". Rumor is that some of the coaching staff, a few powerful families, the administration, the board and especially the superintendent had this in mind from the beginning. The returning coach is a nice guy and a good coach. We were sad when he left, but VERY excited when Forrest arrived. The returning coach told the players he was leaving in 2005 because of a better money offer closer to his family. My first question for him is going to be, "So if you left us once for more money, how long till you leave us again for more money."
I hold nothing against this returning coach, but I have sorely lost any respect I had for the board, the superintendent, the administration, the coaching staff and the influential families that have pushed their opinions on everyone else.
I know this had been MORE than difficult on Elizabeth and Forrest. I also have faith, they will be ok.God is faithful to uphold the just.
But, this has done serious damage to the heart of our school's community. Trust has been lost, feelings hurt, accusations made, lies been told, and truth set aside for personal gain and preferance. Our community has a lot of healing to do. It may take us all a great deal of time to recover from the damage inflicted by just a few people. Which is sad.

Elizabeth, my prayer is that the counter offer will be agreed to and that your life can continue with "forward progress". Your sweet presence in this community was and is a gift. Forrest was and continues to a blessing, especially for his humble attitude under trial by fire. His impact will be felt by those that choose to feel it for years to come. He made a difference in lives. You'll both be missed.

I'm glad we have blogs!
